Job Description

Community & Family Resources (CFR) is an agency that assists individuals and families with substance abuse and gambling addictions and mental health needs.  CFR has an in-patient treatment facility and an in-patient adolescent treatment facility, both located in Fort Dodge. CFR also has outpatient offices located in Fort Dodge, Ames, Webster City, Boone, Clarion, Humboldt, Pocahontas and Rockwell City.  Our staff have the opportunity to provide support at many different levels with adults, as well as youth.
 
We are currently seeking a full-time Case Manager/Coordinator for our Men's Recovery House.  The basic tasks are to coordinate and be directly responsible for the day to day operations of the Recovery House and Gisch House, transitional living units for men in recovery from drug and/or alcohol addiction.
 
The hours are Monday through Friday, and the hours vary to accomodate groups and meetings.
 
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university
  • Two to five years related experience and/or training preferred
  • The staff member in this position must have, or must secure within 12 months of hire, certification as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Due to extenuating circumstances, an extension may be approved by the Executive Director

Skills & Experience

JOB DUTIES:
  • Review Transitional Living Unit applicants for appropriateness for program
  • Accept or deny applicants for entry into the Transitional Living Units
  • Provide orientation to new residents
  • Meet individually with residents to discuss programs/problems in meeting the Transitional Living Unit requirements
  • Work with residents to assess substance abuse, mental health, physical health, employment and financial needs and develop a plan to address those needs
  • Implement family activities designed to improve family and resident interactions
  • Work with the Department of Corrections to make certain that residents involved in the legal system are meeting probation/parole requirements
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies providing supportive services to residents
  • Do random uranalysis testing for substance use
  • When necessary, due to lack of progress, not following program rules, or due to successful program completion, will determine that it is time for a resident to leave the program
  • Help to coordinate recovery community involvement in the Transitional Living Unit
