Job Description

Community & Family Resources (CFR) is an agency that assists individuals and families with substance abuse and gambling addictions and mental health needs.  CFR has an in-patient treatment facility and an in-patient adolescent treatment facility, both located in Fort Dodge. CFR also has outpatient offices located in Fort Dodge, Ames, Webster City, Boone, Clarion, Humboldt, Pocahontas and Rockwell City.  Our staff have the opportunity to provide support at many different levels with adults, as well as youth.
 
We are currently accepting applications and resumes for a Full-Time RN or LPN  The hours of this position is a combination of 12 hour and 8 hour overnight shifts. Must be able work weekends and holidays.  Qualified candidates must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with a current valid Iowa license to practice Nursing, it is preferred that there is some experience with substance abuse treatment services.  The person for this position will be detail oriented, be able to provide services and complete medical orders, chart all relevant information, complete sometimes urgent, complex, and confidential tasks.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse with a current valid Iowa license to practice nursing, AND 
  • Preferred completion of 20 hours of gambling specific training within the prejjvious 24 month period, AND
  • Preferred experience in substance abuse treatment services, counseling and those specialty areas relating to detoxifying clients

JOB DUTIES:
  • Provide assistance to counselors by completing the Intake process on all admissions consistent with the program's intake and assessment format
  • Complete all medical history ad intake information and prepare all clients residing at CFR for physical exam as soon as possible following admission
  • During normal business hours, advise the Billing Department of people who have insurance immediately so that pre-certification may be obtained if required. If pre-authorization is needed after hours the nurse on duty at the time of admission should obtain the information necessary and complete the pre-authorizatin process
  • Complete the 6-month follow-ups on discharged Medicaid Only Clients as assigned
  • Participate in the total Quality Assurance Program Plan as outlined in the Plan and as directed by the immediate supervisor of this position as listed in this job description
