Job Description

It is the objective of Community & Family Resources to provide our customers, which includes clients, funding sources, and other agencies, with services that promote health behavior and lifestyle.  CFR currently has offices in 8 counties to include an Adult Residential Facility and Youth Residential Facility in Webster County, and Outpatient offices in Boone, Calhoun, Hamilton, Humboldt, Pocahontas, Story, Webster and Wright counties.  CFR offers behavioral health treatment to individuals through a wide array of substance abuse, gambling, and mental health treatment services. These treatment services include detoxification, residential/inpatient, transitional living, outpatient, and distance treatment services. 
 
CFR is looking to hire an Outpatient Addiction Program Supervisor at our newly built Central Campus in Fort Dodge. This position coordinates the agency substance abuse and problem gambling treatment programs in accordance with agency policies and procedures and Iowa licensure/certification standards. This position serves as liaison to other agencies as assigned.  This position is responsible in assisting the Addiction Program Clinical Director with training of other agency staff or practicum students.  This position supervises the Outpatient Clinical staff in designated offices.
 
This individual will be an enthusiastic, detail-oriented team and individual contributor with a passion for learning who is able to excel with minimal supervision. In addition to possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills, the employee should have excellent listening comprehension, including the ability to understand complex written and verbal instruction. Because of the nature of the information with which the employee will be working, this position does require a high degree of confidentiality. Clearly understanding the agency mission, goals and direction as set by the Board of Directors is essential. Developing a clear understanding of the agency philosophy and the direction of the Addiction Program Clinical Director and supporting his/her direction is required. The employee must function well in a sometime intense environment where critical management decisions are made on an on-going basis and be able to interact in this intense environment in a courteous and professional manner with tact and poise.  The employee will need to perform a variety of important, sometimes urgent, confidential and complex tasks with constantly changing priorities. 

Skills & Experience

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Completion of Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited educational institution, preferably in the social or behavioral scienses; AND
  • Holder of a substance abuse counseling certification from the Iowa Board of Substance Abuse Certification or a state that has reciprocity; AND
  • At least three (3) years as a full-time substance abuse counselor in a program similar to CFR; AND
  • At least two (2) years of supervisory experience
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the outpatient clinical operation and functioning of assigned CFR service areas in accordance with Chapter 155 Substance Abuse and Problem Gambling licensure standards and other Managed Care Contracts
  • Responsible for crisis calls, evaluations, treatment planning, and referrals for outpatient addiction program clients and family members engaging the service of CFR (with the assistance of other staff)
  • Responsible for delivery of outpatient treatment activities to clients in light of such treatment plans through the supervision of other staff at CFR
  • Responsible directly or by designation for seeing that outpatient records, including medical and others, are kept in accordance with outlined procedures; this includes all records and reports as may be required by the IDPH for licensing, certification adn quality operation of CFR.
  • Responsible directly or by designation for preservation of treatment materials, such as books, audio-visual equipment, films, tapes, etc
  • Responsible for performance evaluation of outpatient staff
  • Responsible directly for outpatient staff training and development. Will work with staff on individual training plans
  • Responsible for participation in the total Quality Improvement Program Plan as outlined in the Plan and as directed by the Executive Director
  • Assist the program in developing policies and procedures relating to the assessment, treatment, and level of care determination for clients; assist and advise clinical staff in total client care management
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings
  • Participates in budget development and management
  • Maintains all contract compliance
  • Serves as a point of contact for facility issues within assigned service area
  • Provide leadership in the communities served by involvement on committees, speaking engagements, public appearances and marketing objectives
  • Direct any emergency situation that requires immediate decision
  • Provide regular feedback from the community to the Managment Team
