Job Description

Community & Family Resources (CFR) is an agency that assists individuals and families with substance abuse and gambling addictions and mental health needs.  CFR has an in-patient treatment facility and an in-patient adolescent treatment facility, both located in Fort Dodge. CFR also has outpatient offices located in Fort Dodge, Ames, Webster City, Boone, Clarion, Humboldt, Pocahontas and Rockwell City.  Our staff have the opportunity to provide support at many different levels with adults, as well as youth.
We are seeking a Part-Time Support Staff/Receptionist to work at our facility.  This individual will schedule appointments, give correct information to callers, receive clients, determine their nature of business and direct clients to appropriate personnel.  The position also assists personnel with secretarial work. This individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have excellent communication and organizational skills.  
HOURS: Monday, Thursday and Friday 10 am - 3pm,  Wednesday 12 noon - 6 pm and Saturdays from 8 am to 2 pm.
  • One year Secretarial/ Administrative Assistant certificate from college or technical school; OR 
  • One to Two years related office experience and/or training; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills & Experience

  • Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business, and conducts visitors to counselors or appropriate persons.
  • Completes Face Sheet and Demographic information in Next Step
  • Prepares Admission Placement Screening forms with necessary information, using the documentation in the client's file
  • Compiles documents/forms necessary for preparing group packets and client intake files.
  • Accepts client payments and prepares daily bank deposit
  • Directs caller to destination and records name, time of call, nature of business and person called upon
  • Makes future appointments and answers inquiries.
  • Reads and routes incoming mail.
  • Makes copies of correspondence and files documents with the Courts, DOT, and other agencies
  • Verify insurance eligibility, effective date, and note benefits
  • Complete fee agreement
  • Complete release forms
