At Community & Family Resources (CFR), our staff have the opportunity to provide support at many different levels with youth as well as adults. Our teams at CFR consist of highly qualified and motivated staff that has a passion for working with people and specifically assisting those who have or have had a struggle with substance use and the disease of addiction.  Our team at CFR work together to provide support and instill hope for the people we work with.  We provide education regarding alternatives that are available and the hope of achieving a healthy and happy lifestyle.
 
We are looking to fill the position of Wellness Coordinator at our Fort Dodge facility. The employee must be detail-orientated, individual and team contributor, with a passion for healthy living and able to excel with minimal supervision. In addition to processing excellent verbal and written communication skills, the employee should have excellent listening comprehension. This individual will work to motivate clients to engage with health classes as well as provide regular coaching and feedback. This position will also assist the agency with developing and implementing a wellness program for staff members.
 
 

Skills & Experience

Education & Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in a health sciences field such as kinesiology, exercise science or similar field
  • Minimum of one of the following Group Exercise Certifications: National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM), American Council of Exercise (ACE), American Fitness Aerobic Association (AFAA), Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA) or other certifications may be reviewed and approved
  • Experience in creating and delivering health and wellness classes
  • Experience with mindfulness techniques, such as yoga and meditation (yoga certification preferred)
  • Good communication skills including verbal, written and with technology
  • Be certified in CPR/First Aid/AED
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead daily wellness activities to include various exercise classes and youth physical education classes
  • Develop coaching plan with client input and goal setting that addresses health risk and/or disease management or prevention
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and staff to develop wellness programs for clients and staff
  • Promote and communicate health programs to clients and staff
  • Analyze health programs and policies to evaluate performance, effectiveness, program improvement, safety or policy change
  • Coordinate wellness programs, services and activities to ensure that they meet state objectives and member needs and interests
  • Provide resources to clients and families on healthy food choices on a tight budget
