Job Description

The purpose of this position is to assist the clinical counseling staff and medical staff with providing addiction rehabilitation services to individuals with substance use issues and their families/concerned persons.
 
The employee in this position will be an enthusiastic, detail-oriented team and individual contributor with a strong passion for learning who is able to excel with minimal supervision.  In addition to possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills, the employee should have excellent listening comprehension, including the ability to understand complex written and verbal instruction.  Because of the nature of the information with which the employee will be working, this position requires a high degree of confidentiality. 
 
Client services -                                                                                                                      
  • May assist clients in completion of necessary assessment forms/documents as needed.
  • Orients clients to program services.
  • Provides oversight and monitoring of clients’ whereabouts and behaviors.
  • Offers clients feedback and support
  • Reports client issues to staff.
  • Assists with light housekeeping duties, including shredding, trash, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, and other areas as assigned.
  • Answers the phone and forwards calls as needed.
  • Assist with transportation of clients to scheduled appointments, planned activities, or as directed by the supervisor.
  • Assists with searching client belongings.
  • Assists with rounds of the facility.
  • Assists with follow up surveys and entering data.

Skills & Experience

Language abilities -

  • Ability to communicate effectively, regularly, and fluently in English; bilingual (English/Spanish) abilities are preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals,
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients or agency employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required with preference given to candidates with AA degree in a behavioral science field such as Human Services, Criminal Justice, ect.
  • Holder of Medication Management Certificate or ability to obtain certification within 90 days of employment
  • Must have a valid driver's license and proof of automobile insurance
