Brett began working as an Intensive Outpatient Counselor with CFR in May of 2023. He is a graduate of Upper Iowa University with a degree in Human Services and plans to start working on his master's in clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2023.
Brett is passionate about working with those dealing with substance abuse issues. His main objective is to help others achieve and maintain long term sobriety and enjoy all the benefits that come along with that.
Outside of work, you will find him collecting Pokemon cards and spending time with his family which includes his fiancé Jessica, daughter Raya, and two golden retrievers Boomer and Bosco.
Grace started working in the mental health field in 2018 in a variety of capacities including a direct support professional, care coordinator/case manager, and in crisis stabilization. She joined the CFR team in January 2023 as an Outpatient Counselor in Iowa City. Grace has a bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University with a dual major in Psychology and Criminal justice. She passed her tCADC exam in March 2023 to become a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and is currently working on a master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Jackie is a Gambling Treatment Counselor in our Iowa City location. She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with a bachelor’s in Human Services and Criminal Justice and has an associates degree from Southeastern Community College with an emphasis in Chemical Dependency Counseling.
She has over 15 years of experience in human services, including providing prevention education to adolescents in our community through Life Skills training and giving them information on vaping, alcohol and other drugs. She has experience working with people who have mental health concerns and integrating them into our community.
Currently, she is working on a new approach and available treatment with problem gambling.
Lisa Rodriguez joined CFR in June of 2023 as a mental health therapist. Lisa graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa with a degree in Psychology and Sociology in 2007. Lisa continued her academic career at the University of Iowa receiving her master's degree in Social Work. Lisa worked in the Illinois Department of Corrections as a mental health therapist, Arrowhead Ranch working as a mental health therapist with youth at risk and a host of other mental health therapist positions.
In Lisa’s spare time, she enjoys going to concerts, photography, road trips, and cooking.
Leanne joined CFR in Iowa City as a Mental Health Therapist in June 2023 after completing a practicum and internship as a Substance Use Counselor at CFR in the fall of 2022 and spring of 2023. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Social Work from The University of Iowa in 1997 and spent the first few years of her career as a social worker at Hospice of Mahaska County, Washington County Hospital & Clinics, MECCA, and University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. Leanne obtained her Master of Arts degree in School Counseling from The University of Iowa in 2004 and enjoyed working as an elementary and high school counselor from 2006-2023. During that time, her passion for meeting the growing mental health needs of children and youth led to the completion of her Licensed Mental Health Counseling Certificate through the University of Northern Iowa in 2023. Leanne is a certified Victim Counselor, as she also served a practicum and two internships at RVAP (Rape Victim Advocacy Program) in 2022-23. She has a great deal of experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma and/or are grieving. Leanne operates primarily through a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach but incorporates other theories and modalities into her work with clients based on their needs.
In her spare time, Leanne enjoys spending time with her family, friends, dog, and enjoying the sunshine with a good cup of coffee – preferably on the beach.
Ronda has been an outpatient counselor at our Iowa City location since November 2020, with specialties in gambling treatment, adolescent treatment, and served as Family Treatment Court liaison for 2 years. She received her tCADC within a month of employment and in January 2023 earned her IADC certification.
Ronda began working in the behavioral health services in 2007, providing care coordination and BHIS services to children, adolescents, and adults focusing on teaching. In 2013 she moved to employment at a local high school as an in-school suspension supervisor where she provided both support and guidance to adolescents who demonstrated behavioral issues for the next 6 years. Prior experience consists of over 20 years providing excellent customer service to customers and over 9 years of supervisory experience in retail sales and with people who experience barriers to independence.
In her free time, she spends quality time with her children, grandchildren, fiancé and her 2-year-old Malshi, Cooper.
