Bethany S

Bethany is an Outpatient Counselor at CFR's Iowa City location. Bethany joined CFR in November 2021 as a Recovery Assistant. In May 2022 she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a certification in Trauma and Resilience-Informed Perspectives. In that same year she moved into the role of Outpatient Counselor, earned her tCADC, and took on grant management for the SOR3 and Emergency Covid-19 grants.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, painting, gardening, reading, and knitting. Most of all, she enjoys playing with her cat, Stanley.

Grace R

Grace started working in the mental health field in 2018 in a variety of capacities including a direct support professional, care coordinator/case manager, and in crisis stabilization. She joined the CFR team in January 2023 as an Outpatient Counselor in Iowa City. Grace has a bachelor’s degree from Upper Iowa University with a dual major in Psychology and Criminal justice. She passed her tCADC exam in March 2023 to become a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor and is currently working on a master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Jackie J

Jackie is a Gambling Treatment Counselor in our Iowa City location. She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with a bachelor’s in Human Services and Criminal Justice and has an associates degree from Southeastern Community College with an emphasis in Chemical Dependency Counseling.

She has over 15 years of experience in human services, including providing prevention education to adolescents in our community through Life Skills training and giving them information on vaping, alcohol and other drugs. She has experience working with people who have mental health concerns and integrating them into our community.

Currently, she is working on a new approach and available treatment with problem gambling.

Travis T

Travis started his social work career at Alcohol and Drug Dependency Services (ADDS) in Burlington, IA in 2007 as a Counselor Aide. He worked in that role 6 years before moving to work at the Iowa State Penitentiary for a brief stint. He ultimately decided that wasn’t the career he wanted and went back to school to be a Chemical Dependency Counselor in 2014, graduating from Southeastern Community College in 2015. After graduation, Travis returned to ADDS where he held various roles including a Counselor Aide, Prevention Specialist, Intensive Outpatient Counselor, Residential Counselor, and Correctional Liaison.

In 2020, Travis moved to Cedar Rapids, IA so that his wife could further her administration career. In Cedar Rapids, he worked at the Abbe Center as an Outpatient Substance Abuse Counselor. In 2022, his wife got a principal job in Muscatine, IA, and that transition led him to CFR, where he works as an Outpatient Counselor.

Ronda B

Ronda has been an outpatient counselor at our Iowa City location since November 2020, with specialties in gambling treatment, adolescent treatment, and served as Family Treatment Court liaison for 2 years. She received her tCADC within a month of employment and in January 2023 earned her IADC certification.

Ronda began working in the behavioral health services in 2007, providing care coordination and BHIS services to children, adolescents, and adults focusing on teaching. In 2013 she moved to employment at a local high school as an in-school suspension supervisor where she provided both support and guidance to adolescents who demonstrated behavioral issues for the next 6 years. Prior experience consists of over 20 years providing excellent customer service to customers and over 9 years of supervisory experience in retail sales and with people who experience barriers to independence.

In her free time, she spends quality time with her children, grandchildren, fiancé and her 2-year-old Malshi, Cooper.
