Overdose Awareness Day Events - 2024
CFR and other local organizations are honoring International Overdose Awareness Day (August 31st) through several events across Ames, Fort Dodge, and Iowa City. The goal of this annual observance is to end overdose, remember without stigma those we have lost, and acknowledge the grief of loved ones left behind. Iowa City Outpatient Updates
Beginning the week of August 26, 2024, same day substance use evaluations will be added on Thursdays from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, in addition to Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.   Begining on August 27, 2024, the evening EOP group will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 PM.
Washington Substance Use Treatment Services
We're excited to announce that CFR's outpatient office in Washington, at 1201 Industrial Park Drive, will provide substance use treatment evaluations and individual counseling on Tuesdays from 8:30 AM-4:30 PM, beginning September 3, 2024.
Ames Same-Day Access Cancelled on 8/13/24
Same-day access/walk-in substance use evaluations will not be available at our Ames office on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. We apologize for any inconvenience, and welcome you to visit our Same-Day Access page to view other available days/times. Please call us at 515-232-3206 with any questions. 
Ames Office Construction Begins 8/12/24
The parking lot at CFR's Ames office will be replaced beginning the week of August 12, 2024. We will remain open for all services, and clients may park in any open section of the parking lot, on the street, or in the ReNew Church parking lot to the south (at 1627 S. High Avenue). Please do not utilize the parking lots for MICA and the Dental Clinic so that they can remain open for their own visitors. Please contact us at 515-232-3206 with any questions.

Fort Dodge Overdose Awareness Day Event - 8/29/24
Des Moines Women's Residential Treatment Services
Effective July 30, 2024, the women's unit at our Des Moines Residential Substance Use Treatment Program will be temporarily closed for approximately 4-6 weeks. The Des Moines men's unit will remain open and continues to accept new clients and referrals. We will also continue to provide both women's and men's residential services at our Fort Dodge location. Fort Dodge Office Walk-In Substance Use Evals
Walk-in substance use evaluations at our Fort Dodge office will be temporarily discontinued on Saturdays, effective July 29, 2024. The full schedule of walk-in days/times can be found here.
Ames Office Walk-In Substance Use Evals
The walk-in hours for substance use evaluations at our Ames office will be changing soon. During the week of July 15, 2024, Ames office walk-ins will only be held on Tuesday, July 16, from 10 AM-2 PM. Then, beginning the week of July 22, 2024, walk-ins will be held in Ames on Mondays from 10 AM-2 PM, Tuesdays from 2 PM-6 PM, and Fridays from 10 AM-3 PM. Ames Walk-In Eval Hours for 7/12/24
On Friday, July 12, 2024, the Ames office walk-in hours for substance use evaluations will be adjusted to 12:30 PM - 3:00 PM. The hours for all other locations will remain as scheduled. Please contact us with any questions or concerns. 
Iowa City Evening EOP Group Changes Eff. 7/9/24
Beginning July 9, 2024, the Iowa City Extended Outpatient (EOP) evening group will be held from 6-8 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, rather than Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please contact our office at 319-351-4357 with any questions or concerns.
